Welcome To Troop 161 -

Troop 161 was chartered on March 13, 1927 and has a rich history spanning over eight decades. We serve youth living and going to school in the neighborhood of Clifton and the surrounding area in Cincinnati, Ohio. We meet year round on Tuesday nights from 7:00 until 8:30 at Calvary Episcopal Church, 3766 Clifton Ave. We have at least one overnight activity a month and at least one week of Scout Camp in the summer. See the "About Us" section for more information about the Troop. If you have any questions or you want to request more information about joining the Troop, just click on Contact Us in the menu to the left to send us a message.

Our annual re-charter is due in the VERY near future.  This is where all the scouts sign up for the coming year and pay annual dues.  We need to verify that you will (will not) be in scouts for the next year.. Annual dues will be $98.00 per scout.  Scouts also have the option of subscribing to Boys Life magazine. Please pay the Troop via Venmo at @BSATroop161.  When making your payment :

Indicate which scout you are paying for - this is CRITICAL

Merit Badge Challenge REGISTRATION IS OPEN - We need a couple of adult volunteers

Posted on Mar 5 2023 - 8:20pm

Registration for the Merit badge Challenge IS OPEN.  As of last week, classes were open but filling up FAST.

We will need help covering this event to maintain our two deep safety requirements.  This is a great "get to know the Scout Master" opportuinity for the parentrs of our newer scouts.  The day is pretty easy.  We drive down to the event and, if needed, sit in a class or three to have enough adults on hand.  There is wifi, so it's possible to get something done in the meetings.
